Back in November of last year, Masego took us around the world with his sonically adventurous Studying Abroad EP. He then circled back around to release a deluxe version, cleverly titling it Studying Abroad: Extended Stay. The original EP was led by the Don Toliver-assisted single “Mystery Lady,” and now he circles back around to present a revamped version of it with its official remix. The new track arrives paired with a stunning new visual. The Doug Bernhardt-directed video opens up with a scene of Masego and his lady enjoying the sunset before he goes into his verse:

Thinkin’ I could make this many songs ‘bout a lady/ When I haven’t met her, but she on me heavy, on my cerebellum/ If I say I love her, am I wrong? Am I crazy? Am I overzealous? But I know the feeling, and I’m never wrong/ Swear that I’ve been gifted with a song and a medley

Masego made sure to enhance the release by sharing some words of appreciation for what went into the video. “I’ve always said music is a passport. I love where it takes me,” he types with gratitude. “I love being this ambassador that makes a bridge between various cultures. I used instruments native to Mexico to create this remix. We shot this in Mexico City and was blessed with garments from @carlafernandezmx. At the time I just went diamond in Brazil and felt honored to work with Brazilian director @dougbernardt.”

The aforementioned Studying Abroad: Extended Stay is equipped with 11 tracks and features from Shenseea, Don Toliver, Shelea, TeaMarrr. It follows Masego’s official debut album Lady Lady, which included features from SiR, Tiffany Gouché, De’ Wayne Jackson, and FKJ. More recently, Masego can be heard dishing out plenty of assists within the last few weeks. He made an appearance on Sinead Harnett’s brand new Ready Is Always Too Late project alongside VanJess for the song “Stickin’.” ‘Sego also tapped in with ELHAE for their collab track “My City.”
