Twenty-year-old De’Wayne Jackson is on a mission to inspire the youth through the art of storytelling. At 17, De’Wayne’s natural charisma, quick-witted freestyling capabilities, and passion caught the ears of Houston fixtures like Donnie Houston, Dough Beezy, and Delorean, earning him spots opening for artists like Pusha T, Dizzy Wright, and The Internet.

At 19, De’Wayne left his eight brothers and sisters and his hometown of Houston for Hollywood to pursue a dream career in music. That’s when reality set in: De’Wayne was forced to sleep on floors and couches and work minimum-wage jobs driving a paint delivery truck during the day, and working the graveyard shift at Taco Bell in order to get by.

De’Wayne’s patience has paid off. Through early support and collaborations with artists like Oddisee and Masego, De’Wayne has expanded his sound, creating music that is grounded in hip-hop but features flourishes of live instrumentation and soul sensibilities.

Weaving lyricism and melody effortlessly, De’Wayne creates a sound that is as natural and authentic as his story. De’Wayne is headed somewhere and he invites you to travel this road with him…
