When it comes to music, Russ has been virtually unstoppable with his weekly releases. This year alone, we’ve seen the Atlanta artist-producer deliver top quality cuts like “Bankrupt,” “Small Talk,” “Status,” “3:15 (Breathe),” “Private” with Rexx Life Raj, and “Money On Me.” This past weekend, he continued that momentum with “Lucky,” a self-produced offering that sees him taking a more pop-esque approach, rapping and harmonizing about him and his significant other traveling the world:

“Yeah, now we gotta watch, now we gotta move, actually, we don’t, we can just cruise, up to Ravello, overlookin’ the Amalfi, champagne, toastin’, feelin’ real bossy, spend a couple days then I call Phillip, that’s my pilot, wait for him to fill-up the jet, then we jet to the Santorini sunset, then Spain, we ain’t even done yet…”

In 2020, Russ released his third studio LP SHAKE THE SNOW GLOBE, his last under the Columbia Records imprint. Including its deluxe upgrade, SHAKE THE SNOW GLOBE saw 21 tracks with features from Rick Ross, Bugus, Ty Dolla $ign, WESTSIDE BOOGIE, Kiana Ledé, Benny The Butcher, Devin The Dude, and Bia. The project was a top five success, peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 with 63,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week. Later that year, Russ then liberated the five-track EP CHOMP — his first official project since his return to independence. That short project saw top quality collaborations with Ab-Soul, DJ Premier, Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, and more.
