This past weekend, Quando Rondo unveiled his latest project Still Taking Risks, an 18-track offering completely void of featured artists. For his latest, the Savannah rapper reveals a new visual from the project for “Purple Baby,” which sees production from Cubano Jam, ReoN, and Worthy, and sees Rondo making things clear about his street ties and vices of choice:

“Glocks, magazines, XDs and PTRs, MACs, extension clips with beams, know you won’t see tomorrow, clap, how lil’ youngin’ banging and they see, hit up his car, we get the drop, we jumped the fence then shootin’ off the fire, I swear that all I know is murder, baby, riding ‘round with them bags on me, smoking purple, that thirty poking out my pants on me.../”

Shot by Rich Porter, the accompanying clip mixes between day and night shots of Rondo and his crew mobbing heavy, enjoying some preferred beverages, showing off money, and more.

As previously reported by REVOLT, the week of Quando Rondo’s new album release was marred by a shooting at Georgia quick stop, which injured one person within his entourage. That incident follows a high-publicized altercation that took place late last year and ended the life of Chicago rising star King Von. The alleged shooter, Rondo’s affiliate Lul Tim, was released on bond back in March.

In an in-car interview with “The Breakfast Club” radio host Angela Yee, Rondo shot down rumors that he attempted to take Von’s valuables during the tragic event:

“Ma’am. You think people in the middle of a shootout. … So many bullets flying. You think people thinking about that bag of money? … Only people with bad intentions, doing clout chasing stuff, looking to take a nigga chain.”
