It’s been a few years or so since A.CHAL liberated his last full-length LP ON GAZ, which saw 11 cuts and a few assists from French Montana, A$AP Nast, and GAZI GHOST. Since then, the Peruvian artist has continued his momentum with the six-track EP EXOTIGAZ, along with infectious singles like “Pink Dust,” “Hollywood Love” with Gunna, “WHO U,” and — most recently — last February’s “Nobody Like Me,” which sees him lamenting over a lost lover who’s apparently found another:

“You gon’ call it what you call it, I’m a real one, just be honest, how you left me got me heartless, I know one thing, I still got you, yeah, you know I’m in your head like a melody, I know you tryna feel how you felt with me…/”

This month, he adds to that with a new cut titled “TAPPD’N,” a laid-back offering that sees production from ALEO, Frank Rio, and A.CHAL himself. The track sees the talent flexing about his vice and women-heavy lifestyle:

“I’ve been cookin’ in la cocina, shit is puro, when they askin’ for handouts, I tell ‘em, ‘Life is duro’, Your girl in my DM’s and she call me, ‘Papi Chulo,’ took her to an island ‘cause she wanna share her culo/”

“TAPPD’N” also sees a lo-fi music video courtesy of Sammo Fidel, and brings the carefree nature of the song to life with blurry shots of A.CHAL in what looks like a restaurant kitchen, and flowing through the streets of New York City in a bright green Lamborghini. Via press release, he further explained the nature of the clip:

“I needed to make a video that inspired everyone to tap in. Raise your head, stick your chest out, and get work – no excuses! This video cost no money to make but took hard work to accomplish. Everything is possible.”
