Dave East continues to release hard-hitting loose cuts for his fans. For his latest, he teams up with star producer araabMUZIK for “Mercedes Talk,” which sees him reflecting on his current success and how he truly feels about it:

“I still don’t feel like I’m famous, I had to move up out the projects just to feel like I made it, when I talk on araab shit, got the feeling I’m painting, that money come and then them feelings start changing/

How grown men be complaining, I never understood, I feel like the greatest, they call me East, only my moms can make me feel like I’m David…/”

Keeping with the general theme of his previous visuals, the WillC-directed clip that accompanies the track takes us back to the block, where Dave East shows off some fly gear, sips a 40 ounce, and hangs with his crew at the corner store and other presumably nearby locations. araabMUZIK, fellow rapper Millyz, and others are in attendance as well.

“Mercedes Talk” follows the recent singles “Child Of The Ghetto” and “No Lucc (East Mix),” along with a recent collaboration with J Stone titled “What’s Beef?” Back in October, Dave East released the deluxe edition of his latest project Karma 3, which altogether contains a healthy 23 tracks and appearances from G Herbo, Jeezy, Chris Brown, Junior Reid, DeJ Loaf, Mary J. Blige, Benny The Butcher, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Trey Songz, and more.

In a past interview with REVOLT’s “Drink Champs,” Dave East spoke on the importance of having great albums over great songs:

“I just pulled up knocking Life After [Death], that’s what I drove over here listening to. So, I miss that, skits and all that. They don’t do that anymore, all of that is like a lost art. I like to put something on where it feels like you watching a movie.”
