January was a prolific month for G Perico. In that time frame, he dropped off two EPs — the 6-track Free and the 9-track Welcome To The Land. He also teamed up with Rucci for the hard-hitting loose cut “Keep Killin.”

Just before the start of Black History Month, the Los Angeles star then connected with 1TakeJay for the Low The Great-produced single “Pull It,” a short play that keeps with Perico’s usual subject matter over a G funk soundscape:

“I don’t wanna talk baby, I just wanna chill, walked in the house and I’m high off a pill, Ksubi jeans and a clip full a bullets, got my finger on the trigger and I ain’t afraid to pull it/

Hoop earrings on bling, if you was talkin’ shit, don’t say you got dope fiend, this California, if you ain’t gettin’ paid you’s a bum, and it don’t matter where the fuck you from/”

In addition to the aforementioned mixtape of the same name, G Perico also dropped a visual for “Welcome To The Land” that sees him riding through and hanging around his South Central stomping grounds — there’s also a hilarious interlude featuring artist/internet comedian DoKnow. All in all, the clip is a perfect match for both the song’s hook and the song/EP’s title:

“Welcome to the land, gang of young n***as running ‘round gettin’ bands, bitch ass n***as, wanna diss on the ‘gram, bump into them n***as, pull the blick and they ran…/”

G Perico’s last official LP, the Roc Nation-backed Ten-Eight, was released in 2019 and saw 11 cuts with additional features from Sonny Digital, Az Chike, Bucho, and Garren. The classic bodies of work 2 Tha Left and Guess What? made landfall in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
