This past weekend, producer extraordinaire Swindle liberated his album THE NEW WORLD, which comes with nine genre-bending cuts and a wealth of contributions from Kojey Radical, Knucks, Maverick Sabre, Poppy Ajudha, Joel Culpepper, Ghetts, Akala, and more. Yesterday (Nov. 2), Swindle then unveiled a cinematic short film to accompany the new body of work, which turns said project into a high class affair centered around most of the collaborators meeting for a chill function while dressed to the nines.

Throughout the Meeks & Frost-directed clip, the artists acquire tailored suits before the big event, dine, converse, and play games around a table in a grand room, and more. While many of the songs from THE NEW WORLD are shortened to fit Swindle’s cinematic vision, one scene in particular sees the artists coming together for a full run of the standout banger “BLOW YA TRUMPET.” Certain songs also turn into live band-styled performances, including the absolutely beautiful “DARKEST HOUR,” a collaboration with Ajudha and Daley (who unfortunately wasn’t present for the video) that sees the two singing about supporting a loved one through down times:

“In your darkest hour, when you’ve lost your powers, can’t find the ground, beneath your feet, your knees go weak, when you need a friend, need a hand to lend, I’ll be there, you don’t need to pretend with me…

It’s alright, alright, to lean on me when you’re doubting, share the weight and make it ours, to shine your light, there’s enough to go around, so rise up into your power…”

Swindle took to social media to express his appreciation for all who supported the new album:

“I want to thank my friends and collaborators for being on this journey with me! For lifting me up that week when I needed it … This marks a moment for me, I’ll always be able to look back and remind myself of my superpower.”

With that, you can enjoy THE NEW WORLD in both mediums below.
