Kane Brown has recruited R&B star H.E.R. for his latest “Blessed & Free” single. The new track follows the recent blackbear collaboration “Memory” as well as the hit duet “Famous Friends” with Chris Young. It also arrives paired with an official music video, which sees the duo in various settings of black and white while delivering their respective parts before coming together for the hook:

I’ve been on the highway, for two days, tryna keep my head straight/ Running from my old ways, the old days, was dust and dreams/ I’ve been sippin’ Moonshine for two nights, tryna keep the moonlight/ Rebel with a lost cause and there’s no time to sleep

Cause as long as my eyes still see, as long as my heart still beats, as long as I’m alive, I’m free/ So I don’t count on nothing, don’t ever stop running, I ain’t hurting nobody, so just let me be/ I got good intentions, I don’t need your blessings

Brown’s latest release is 2020’s Mixtape, Vol. 1, featuring the John Legend collaboration “Last Time I Say Sorry” and “Worldwide Beautiful.” Brown also just officially hit the road for his headlining “Blessed & Free Tour,” which kicked off in Sacramento, California, on October 1st. Earlier this summer, H.E.R. release her official debut LP Back of My Mind, which boasts previously released cuts like “Damage,” “Come Through” with Chris Brown, “Hold On,” and “Slide” with YG.

H.E.R.’s last full-length project before that was 2019’s I Used To Know Her. The 19-track compilation included features from DJ Scratch, YBN Cordae, and Bryson Tiller. In 2020, she shared a handful of singles including “Do To Me,” “Wrong Places” from Songland,“Slide” and its remix featuring A Boogie, Chris Brown, and the late Pop Smoke, and “Comfortable.” She also provided assists on Skip Marley’s “Slow Down” and Lonr.’s “Make The Most.”
