Currently, Dave East is putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming album Karma 3, and has already blessed his fans with singles like “My Loc,” “Believe It Or Not,” “Menace,” “Handsome,” and more. Now, the Harlem star returns with a new visual for “So Confusing,” which sees him reflecting on all of his lost homies:

“It’s so confusin’, felt like I was winning, just to find out I was losin’, we ain’t know no better, if we could sell it, we gon’ move it/

Tired of tattin’ homies in my mind, I’m ‘bout to lose it, came up with a plan, we got some grams and started boomin’/

Tell me you love me but you hate me, it’s so confusin’, made it out and still ain’t get to live, it’s so confusin’.../”

The visual shows Dave East in a tattoo parlor getting some new ink while reciting his emotionally charged lyrics. He also pays homage to Nipsey Hussle and Kiing Shooter, two rappers that have tragically lost their lives well before their time.

Karma 3 will follow Dave East’s debut album Survival, which was released last November and saw 20 tracks with additional appearances from Gunna, Fabolous, The-Dream, Mozzy, Lil Baby, Ty Dolla $ign, and more. Speaking to REVOLT, Dave East spoke on the elements that helped bring that album to fruition:

“I was listening to Snoop Dogg’s first album, Doggystyle. I was listening to Cam’ron’s first album, Confessions of Fire. I listened to 50 Cent’s first album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. I was listening to everybody s***. I knocked everybody’s first album. I studied what energy these had when they came out the gate to the world. I said, ‘Alright, let me paint this picture, give these n***as my life, make sure the skits are right.’ I got a Madd Rapper skit on my album. Madd Rapper was on Biggie’s album and I grew up on the Bad Boy era.”
