Last November, Dave East supplied the fans with his official studio debut Survival, complete with 20 tracks and collaborations alongside Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Baby, Jacquees, Fabolous, Rick Ross, The-Dream, Teyana Taylor, Nas, DJ Premier and more. Now, it looks like he’s gearing up for hotter months via his new single “Really Wit Me.”

Produced by Mike Kuz and Joe Joe Beats, Dave East gets colorful about the streets he comes from and the reality of life for many:

“Bad b***h beside me as I push the foreign/

Hood gettin’ nasty, s***, we just was touring/

Different club every night, even that s*** get boring/

It’s hard to stay off it ‘cause all my n***as on/

Reminiscing on them nights I thought I wouldn’t make it/

We made a vow to hold it down, I swear I wouldn’t break it/

The judge gave him 25, he said he couldn’t face it/

Nobody hearing from him, found him in his cell, naked.../”

The accompanying Donjai-directed visual seems to call back to classic Hype Williams edits, showcasing lots of warm weather activity in the hood via split-screen footage. Kids can be seeing playing alongside dirtbikes, ice cream trucks, beautiful women, exotic cars and more. Among the many shots, activist Korey Wise — one of the Central Park 5 — is also seen making a cameo.

Last month, Dave East blessed his fans with a new video teaser from his forthcoming project Karma 3, which follows the previous installments released in 2017 and 2018. In the short social media clip, East can be seen rapping some dope bars over Jay-Z’s classic “Heart Of The City” instrumental, definitely letting the fans know that new heat is just around the corner:

In the meantime, fans can enjoy “Really Wit Me” below. Summer is almost here.
