Battery charges brought against Dave East have been dropped. TMZ had originally reported that East was cited for misdemeanor battery in Las Vegas last month after an alleged sexual encounter between the rapper and two other women ended in a violent attack.

However, East denied the claims, explaining on “The Morning Hustle” that it was the women who acted violently after finding his jewelry in his hotel room.

”We upstairs but we just chillin’ in the little lounge part of the room. My man had the speaker, we smokin’, just kickin’ it. Two of the chicks were like, ‘Can we use the bathroom?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, go ‘head use the bathroom.’ But my jewelry was in there,” he said.

Once they started picking up his jewelry, East became suspicious and asked the women to leave.

“Shorty threw three bottles. Cut my arm, my leg, all that. She done already dialed 911 in the bathroom. Got the phone on speaker phone. Cops hearin’ all of that, I’m screamin,’” he said.

The case was dropped due to East’s apparent injuries. His attorney, Stacey Richman, presented his medical papers to the court, which revealed the rapper had sustained a concussion from the attack.

“The woman threw a soap dispenser and bottles of champagne at Dave,” Richman wrote in a statement. “One of the bottles shattered on the wall, sending glass flying and cutting Dave. Another bottle hit Dave with force in the head. The woman sought to continue her assault. Dave did not respond with violence. Instead Dave was concerned for everyone’s safety. Dave justifiably took the woman by the arm and put her out of the room. Dave did not assault anyone. He was ordered by his doctor to get CAT scan after the incident. We are waiting on the results. It was later learned that the woman had [secured] Dave’s phones in her handbag.”

East took to Instagram to celebrate the dismissal of the case and accuse TMZ of promoting “fake news,” which allegedly lost him an acting gig.

”I TOLD YALL I WAS INNOCENT,” he wrote. “HOW IMA FUC* UP A 3SOME SHI*TIN ME LOST A WHOLE MOVIE ROLE OVER THIS FAKE NEWS ITS ALL GOOD CANT STOP WHAT ALLAH GOT PLANNED. OH YEAH [TMZ] SUCC MY DICC..GOD BLESS & SHOUTS TO MY LAWYER U DA ILLEST.”

With the charges dropped, East told TMZ “I always treat women with nothing but respect.”
