It’s only been a couple of weeks since the release of Aminé’s sophomore album Limbo, which sees 14 tracks and appearances from J.I.D, Charlie Wilson, Young Thug, slowthai, Vince Staples, Summer Walker, and Injury Reserve. Even with that release, the Portland emcee is still released new music — case in point, his latest single “Hello,” which features Empire Of The Sun beatsmith Luke Steele. The presumed cutting room floor track is produced by The Stereotypes & Pasqué and sees the collaborators flexing about life and success in creative ways:

“Look, I’m a hot boy, you know I’d be with her sun be, used to be a bum, now I’m looking like I’m Bun B, had to go crazy, had to go crazy/

These n***as don’t faze me, these n***as don’t faze me, hello world, I’m the mighty one. y’all Aminé’s sons, bought a Rivian/

Say somethin’ when you want to say it, don’t second guess it like you scared of somethin’, good riddance to the barbershop…/”

In a recent interview with Vulture, Aminé broke down the reasoning behind the title of his latest album:

“What’s f***ing crazy is I had it for about a year and a half — way before this pandemic, before everything. Personally, I’m not a fan of being on the nose of things, of the times, or of anything, really, ever, so the title just kind of worked out in our favor when it came to the timing. I personally chose the title for completely different reasons.”

Limbo follows both Aminé debut studio LP Good For You, which has earned him a Gold certification, and OnePointFive, a presumed appetizer before Aminé’s sophomore LP that’s since earned some respectable placements on the Billboard charts following its release.
