Last month, The Game returned to the microphone with his new single “A.I. With The Braids,” an ode to NBA legend Allen Iverson that features assistance from past collaborator Lil Wayne. Produced by Mike Zombie and sampling a Junior M.A.F.I.A. classic, the two rap veterans rap about Iverson’s hairstyle, fashion sense, and athletic skills, among other more personal topics:

“Hatin’ is a disease, Usher Raymond, stop it, the Tommy got more power than Kanan, they wanna know what I whispered in 50’s ear, ‘G-Unit, motherfucker, the real Ghost is here’”/

Like A.I. did, fucked a few Kardashians if I say I did, Ben Simmons, dribble rock all day, I did, can’t a motherfucker tell me ‘bout the way I live/”

Courtesy of Tilla Vision, the animated visual sees The Game and Lil Wayne on a basketball court with their matching whips. In addition to dancers rocking Iverson’s retired jersey number, the sports icon himself can be seen along with his various trophies and accomplishments floating around him throughout.

Prior to “A.I. With The Braids,” The Game has remained somewhat dormant since his ninth — and, at the time, final — studio album Born 2 Rap, which saw 25 tracks and a slew of features from Ed Sheeran, Miguel, Dom Kennedy, Mozzy, Marsha Ambrosius, 21 Savage, Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Anderson .Paak, the late Nipsey Hussle, and more. Since then, the Compton emcee has contributed to a few cuts from his peers, including Joyner Lucas’ “On This Way” and Jay 305’s “You Too Much.” Meanwhile, Lil Wayne has been quite the opposite — 2020 alone has seen the full-length releases Funeral (and its deluxe upgrade), Tha Carter V (Deluxe), and No Ceilings 3, along with a fairly prolific amount of featured appearances.
