Key Takeaways

Megan Thee Stallion has officially made her return to “Moulin Rouge! The Musical.” On Thursday (April 2) night, the Grammy-winning musician took the stage at New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre just days after exiting mid-show because she felt “very ill.”

Later identified as “extreme exhaustion,” the Houston Hottie sat out Wednesday’s (April 1) performance. Fortunately, she appears to be doing just fine now, and perhaps more in demand than ever. The Hollywood Reporter noted that last night’s production sold out, with Megan also receiving a standing ovation for her show-stopping take on nightclub impresario Zidler.

“Meg Thee Stallion made her ‘Moulin Rouge!’ return tonight!” Loren LoRosa wrote on Instagram, alongside a video of the artist performing a medley of “Body” and “Savage.” Once she wrapped up the latter song, the audience broke into loud cheers and applause as the camera panned around the theater. “Thank y’all so much!” Megan responded. What caused Megan Thee Stallion’s health scare during “Moulin Rouge!” show

As REVOLT previously reported, Megan was taken to the hospital on Tuesday (March 31) after leaving the stage in the middle of her performance. In a statement released by her team the following day, a spokesperson for the rapper shared, “Doctors ultimately identified extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels as the cause of her symptoms.” They added that she had “since been treated, discharged, and is now resting.”

“Megan is incredibly grateful for the prayers and well-wishes from her supporters,” it continued, adding that she was expected to return on Thursday. The “Girls in the Hood” artist then addressed the situation in an Instagram update. “Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said, ‘Enough,’” she explained. “It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage. I really tried to push through my performance, but I just couldn’t.”

Fans can catch Megan in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” through May 17. For now, check out her post below.

From ‘MEGAN III’ to anime, here’s what else Megan Thee Stallion is working on

For anyone curious, “Moulin Rouge!” is hardly the only thing Megan has in the works for 2026, let alone what she's already done this year. The Good News rapper has been teasing MEGAN: Act III for quite a while now, along with an anime project, “Hotties,” she worked on with “The Boondocks” mastermind Carl Jones. This is all on top of her already opening her first Popeyes location and teaming up with Dunkin’ back in January.
