Last week, Fabolous decided to bless the masses with a new drop titled “Ups & Downs Freestyle,” a flip of Jack Harlow and Drake’s Come Home the Kids Miss You standout “Churchill Downs.” As expected, the Brooklyn veteran uses the TT Audi, Ace G, Boi-1da, and Ryan Bakalarczyk-produced instrumental to deliver rewind-worthy raps about obstacles in his life, street politics, and much more:

“Tryna elevate, I just take the ups with the downs, if it escalate, my order goin’ uppity down, make him levitate, blick lift him up off the ground, I’m a heavyweight, I been tryna uplift the town, you ain’t say that, oh now we got puppets around, I don’t play that, the homie can’t make up wit’ no clown, this the upside, everything is up wit’ me now, down ass b**ch, I got her actin’ uppity now, ain’t no gettin’ back wit’ me when I’m up and she down, and I just lost a parlay off a couple rebounds…”

“Ups & Downs Freestyle” also boasts a matching visual that comes courtesy of Drevinci and brings viewers to Croatia. Fab can be seen performing his rhymes with a glass of wine in hand while outdoors under the night sky. Elsewhere, he hits up a packed pool party with his crew and rides a four-wheeler on an empty road.

The past few months have been pretty productive for Fabolous, who has been liberating loose drops like “Coke Zero Freestyle,” “Cheerio Freestyle,” “Say Less” with French Montana, “Rich Hustle” with Jim Jones, and “Bach To Bach” with Jadakiss. He’s also provided his special brand of bars on songs like Jones’ “Fit Lit (Betty White),” Mary J. Blige’s “Come See About Me (Remix),” Hitmaka’s “Down Bad,” DJ Drama’s “Forever,” and Tink’s “Oooh Triflin.” Press play on Fabolous’ “Ups & Downs Freestyle” video below.
