Almost two years ago, Shenseea, Rvssian, Swae Lee, and Young Thug connected for “IDKY,” a single that would have had dance floors on full tilt — had it not been on the still-active quarantine. Today (Dec. 10), Shenseea and Rvssian reconnect for the new single “You’re The One I Love,” another infectious cut that sees Shenseea declaring her feelings to a special someone:
“I give you peace of mind, my heart is always on your side, our connection is rare to find, that’s why, me no go let you go, I feel that I’m so blessed to be yours, I’m yours, right there when you need it, I mean it, there’s a fire burnin’ bright, even in the darkest night, you are the one I love, you are the one I love, me a stay right by your side, not a thing can change my mind, you are the one I love…”
The accompanying clip for “IDKY” sees Rvssian behind the keys while Shenseea stuns viewers beachside. Elsewhere, the Jamaican talent breaks out into choreographed dancing with other girls and gets affectionate with a love interest.
“You’re The One I Love” follows Shenseea’s previous singles “Be Good” and “Run Run,” both of which are expected to appear on her long-awaited debut album. Fans can also hear her on EA Sports’ Madden NFL 22 soundtrack, collaborating with Canadian rapper Belly on “How I’m Feelin’,” and on a couple of standout cuts from Kanye West’s latest LP DONDA. Shenseea made an appearance at this year’s Summer Jam, Hot 97’s biggest event that — despite the inclement weather — still saw plenty of great sets by CJ, DreamDoll, Rotimi, Swizz Beatz, and more. This comes mere weeks after Shenseea stopped by Funkmaster Flex’s show at said station to freestyle over the now-popular “Crocodile Teeth” riddim.
