Swae Lee’s new Snapchat show “Swae Meets World” debuts today Saturday (April 17). The reality docuseries is part of Snapchat Originals, which is the social media platform’s new original programming initiative.

“Swae Meets World” will give fans who subscribe a behind-the-scenes look at Khalif “Swae Lee” Brown’s exciting rockstar lifestyle. The five-time Grammy nominee is still very much a part of Rae Sremmurd. And while his brother Slim Jxmmi makes an appearance in the first episode, this show is strictly about Swae.

In the first episode, titled “Swae Lee’s having the wildest year of his life, no cap,” Swae is conflicted. He has to focus on his first solo album, while grieving the death of his father

The 27-year-old Tupelo, Mississippi native experienced a serious tragedy when Michael Sullivan, Swae and Jxmmi’s half-brother, was charged with felony first-degree murder of his own father.

“Allegedly the police say my brother shot my dad,” Swae says during the episode. “It’s unbelievable. You can’t even imagine. It’s like something out of a movie. I’m still dealing with it. I don’t even know how to deal with it all the way completely. It’s traumatic but it like puts fury inside of you. It puts fire inside of you. You can’t bring nobody back.”

In order to gain some closure, Swae wants to travel back home to Mississippi to visit his father’s grave and spend time with family. He’s upset when he finds out his half brother, Floyd Sullivan, won’t go with him but Swae is content it’s a journey he must go on solo.

The episode ends with Swae at his father’s grave holding flowers over his tombstone. While this particular episode focuses more on the “Sunflower” rapper’s tragedy, there will be future episodes filled with triumph. Fans can subscribe to “Swae Meets World” and look out for new episodes every other day on Snapchat’s discover page.
