Today (Oct. 29), BackRoad Gee unleashes his latest full-length effort Reporting Live (From the Back of the Roads), an 18-track effort that sees additional features from Lethal Bizzle, Jme, Pa Salieu, Stefflon Don, Ms Banks, and more. The project was led by top tier singles like “Enough is Enough,” “Ready or Not,” and “Bad Mind.”

In addition to the new project, the East End star has also liberated a new visual from the project for “Ancestors,” a collaboration with NSG that sees the artists harmonizing about street life, women, and more:

“Oh, back in the days where I felt am, prison days, Feltham, used to wait for the letters from the mailman, huh, gangster side way de melt am, hear a Big Bang theory, he got shelled don, fire, send him hell, son, cah the beef ting, meat like it well done, ya see her hair nails, well done, don’t play with the corner, when it’s war, it’s war, load it up, brrr, they can’t go too far…”

The video for “Ancestors” is mainly filled with fly attire, beautiful women, and more. It’s a perfect match for a laid back vibe perfect for the home or the dance floor.

Reporting Live (From the Back of the Roads) follows last year’s Mukta vs Mukta, a seven-track EP with additional contributions from Salieu, Ambush Buzzworl, and Jay Silva. Prior to that, he released the well-received drop Mukta With Reason in 2019.

In a past interview with Clash, BackRoad Gee spoke on how his Congolese background influences his musical style and flow:

“It influences everything. How I sound, and how I come across, and even how I structure my music. That’s where my understanding of music comes from.”
