Nipsey Hussle’s oldest child and only daughter may be following in her father’s footsteps with an interest in music. Recently, Emani Asghedom was captured as she sung the words to an old classic.

In the video that has since gone viral, the 12-year-old showcased her singing skills while practicing “I Will Always Love You,” the Dolly Parton song popularized by Whitney Houston. As she flexed her lower register tone, doubts about hitting certain notes were immediately trumped by cheers and words of encouragement from members of her family.

The Victory Lap emcee took pride in Emani, who accompanied him to the 2019 Grammy Awards. When speaking to Steph Curry, he opened up about their talks and the lessons he hoped to instill in his daughter.

“When I drop my daughter off every day, I drill her,” he said in a 2018 episode of “5 Minutes From Home” series. “When I take her to school, we have a little convo before she gets out the car, and she gets sick of running scripts with me.”

“But I pounded into her head, ‘What is integrity?’ Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody’s looking,” he continued. “Are you a leader or follower? ‘I’m a leader.’ What’s the difference? ‘Think for myself.’ Alright, do you have confidence? ‘Yes, use confidence, believe in myself.’ That’s our script every morning.”

Unfortunately, Nipsey’s parenting was cut short when he was gunned down in front of his Marathon Clothing Store on March 31, 2019. In the wake of his passing, Emani honored her late father in her graduation speech. “I want to begin by sharing my thankfulness for my mom for believing in me, and my dad, for always being there for me,” she said at the time.
