Lil Mo forgives Fat Joe after “dusty bitches” comment

“We are ALL moving on and going UP!” the singer wrote.

Lil Mo has “made peace” with Fat Joe following a triggering comment he made during the Verzuz battle between him and Ja Rule. On Thursday (Sept. 16), the “Superwoman” singer took to Instagram to reveal that she’s accepted the rapper’s apology and has moved on from the situation.

“BLESSINGS come down when you remain humble in all things. I AM so glad to be apart of the history that has been made. I AM Legendary,” she captioned a throwback clip from the battle. “I’ve made peace with everything and EVERYONE. And we are ALL moving on and going UP! Alhamdulillah!! When God gives you the opportunity to extend grace and forgive. ACCEPT IT. You never know when you may need it. Love always.”

As previously reported by REVOLT, Lil Mo was “disappointed” after she was caught in the shots exchanged during Tuesday night’s (Sept. 14) Verzuz. At the time, when clapping back at Ja Rule’s complaints about him relying on his special guest Remy Ma to save him, he made a statement about the people who’d come through for the Murder Inc. star. “Oh, them dusty bitches,” the “All the Way Up” emcee said. “You had to go to the crack house to find them bitches.” Since Vita and Lil Mo were the only two artists aside from mutual collaborator Ashanti to perform with Ja that night, many believed the comment was directed at the two women.

Shortly after the battle, Fat Joe issued an apology, but the “4Ever” vocalist was still bothered by the comment, which she later explained was “vile” and “disheartening” following her past battle with substance abuse.

“Everyone may have seen me speak up recently on being clean from opioid addiction. So saying, ‘Those are the kind of bitches you get from the crack house,’ it’s like, ‘Whoa,’” she told TMZ. “We’ve seen the recent deaths from people overdosing and stuff. We’re not gonna play those type of games ’cause you don’t know what anybody’s dealing with.”

The “Put It On Me” singer later demanded another apology from Joe, prompting a brief exchange between her and Remy Ma, who called her out for taking to social media to discuss the issue.

Hours later, when Fat Joe went live to recap the Verzuz, he apologized to Lil Mo and Vita once again, noting he took things “too far.” “The whole point of Verzuz was to bring you out so you could get that shine, so you could get that light, ’cause you deserve it,” he said. “You’re our queens.”

Following the singer’s forgiving post, Joe responded writing, “Love you Mo.” “Love you Joe,” she wrote back.
