The five-track offering sees a single assist from Brent Faiyaz.

Last year, Tems made huge waves with her debut project For Broken Ears, much in part thanks to the breakthough single “Damages.” Today (Sept. 15), she continues her run with the new EP If Orange Was A Place, which sees five new cuts for fans to enjoy — including the recently released standout “Crazy Tings.” In addition, the Nigerian artist also recruits Maryland talent Brent Faiyaz for the Guilty Beatz-produced “Found,” which sounds like both a love story and a scenario where Tems might be coming to terms with what’s going on in her head:

“People always trying to take a bite out of my mind, if you need a fight, maybe we could start, I feel I might just be coming undone, tell me why you can’t be found? It’s so unreasonable, I know you, love is a difficult life, maybe we should take it to the streets, basically, I might not be weak, basically, I might not be falling, basically, I might be used to this … I found myself…”

From a commercial standpoint, many have probably first heard of Tems via two of this year’s most notable cuts. The first was WizKid’s Made In Lagos cut “Essence,” a track that has since skyrocketed to the 13th position on the Billboard 200, as well as equally empressive spots on charts around the world — the track has subsequently scored both artists a Gold plaque in the United States. A mere week and a half ago, Tems made another splash on Drake’s sixth studio LP Certified Lover Boy, providing vocals for the Batundi, TRESOR, Monsune, and 40-produced “Fountains.” That track has also landed on the Billboard 200, and is currently sitting comfortably at 26.

Press play on TemsIf Orange Was A Place. Hopefully, a full-length body of work from the rising star will soon follow.
