Back in May, Young M.A unleashed her Off The Yak project, and has given us dope visuals like the Rubi Rose-assisted “Don Diva” clip. She now circles back to deliver the official video for “Yak Thoughts,” which sees M.A wandering down the hallway of an abandoned building as she navigates through her cluttered thoughts. On the track, she gives us her raw feelings:

Smokin’ and drinkin’, drinkin’ and smokin’, hopin’ for hope, but I’m hopeless/ Too much distractions, I’m losin’ my focus, too much pain, could barely notice the beauty in things/ Too much mental commotion, man, I’m tryna to get back to the way I was

I’m tired of escapin’, I’m tired of the drugs/ I be havin’ these relations but hidin’ my love (Damn)/ And instead of chasin’, I’m like, “That bitch is a dub”/ Uh, feelin’ the need to keep my heart on freeze, suffocatin’ my feelings, instead of letting ‘em breathe

In terms of guest appearances on Off The Yak, M.A tapped in with names like Fivio Foreign, Rubi Rose, Max YB, and Wap5tar. Simultaneously, she grabbed some hard-hitting beats as well from the likes of NY Bangers, Jai Beats, Mike Zombie and more. Leading up to the album, she prepped fancs by she’s releasing her singles “Off The Yak” and “and delivered freestyles over CJ’s “Whoopty” and SpotemGottem’s “BeatBox.”

The NYC native could be heard dishing out some dope features recently as well, including “Mad” on YG and Mozzy’s collab project Kommunity Service. Back in 2019, Young M.A unveiled her debut album Herstory In The Making, a top 20 effort that saw 21 cuts and a couple of appearances from Relle Bey and Max YB. More recently, she blessed her fans with the quarantine-friendly EP Red Flu, which contained tracks like “Bad Bitch Anthem” and “2020 Vision.”
