When it comes to lyrical dominance and delivery amongst the women in Hip Hop, Young M.A is somewhere at the top of that list without a doubt. Since the release of her debut single “Ooooh” back in 2016, the Brooklyn rapper has been a lyrical tyrant in the booth while effortlessly showing why she should be mentioned in almost any conversation regarding rap these days — hell, she’s even better than a lot of male rappers if we keeping it a bean. Though some people might feel she hasn’t put in enough work to be included in these conversations, the truth of the matter is that having that mindset is cancerous and quite foolish. If her latest album Off The Yak isn’t enough to prove her abilities then there’s really nothing else to discuss.

The story of Young M.A’s career has been her consistency. Her buttery, yet brutal flow and effortless charisma have carried her through each trend of rap — she’s even conquered such moments on at least one such occasion, most recently with her epic remix of SpottEmGottEm’s “Beatbox.” M.A’s marathon sprint shows no sign of stopping and her new Off The Yak album is a breath of fresh air for the fans, knowing that her foot is still on the gas.

Young M.A has lately been embracing Brooklyn drill aesthetics, and that sound fits her punchy, nonchalant delivery perfectly. On “Hello Baby,” she teams up with Brooklyn drill star Fivio Foreign, and she eats the track pretty easily.

Other than Fivio, M.A tapped on a few other acts to contribute to the album’s success: Rubi Rose, Max YB, and Wap5tar. Simultaneously, she grabbed some hard-hitting beats as well from the likes of NY Bangers, Jai Beats, the young living legend Mike Zombie and more!
