Many would say that we’re long overdue for another album from Wale. It’s been a couple of years since his sixth LP, Wow… That’s Crazy, which saw 15 tracks with contributions from Kelly Price, Boogie, Ari Lennox, 6LACK, Bryson Tiller, Jeremih, Lil Durk, fellow Maybach Music stars Rick Ross and Meek Mill, and more. The project was considered a return to form for the D.C. veteran, landing him at the top ten of the Billboard 200 — a sizable change from the album’s slept-on predecessor SHINE.

Since then, Wale has kept himself busy as a featured artist, providing his show-stealing verses to songs by peers like Queen Naija, Skip Marley, Rotimi, THEY., Pacman da Gunman, EARTHGANG, Omarion, and Westside Gunn. More recently, he’s also delivered two new singles of his own — “Flawed,” which sees assistance from Gunna and an uncredited Young Thug, and “Good Vibes (Za),” Today, Wale adds to his campaign of loose cuts with “Angles,” which features past collaborator Chris Brown, who can be heard singing to a certain love interest throughout:

“See the way it’s you and I, girl, I can’t tame you, I can’t blame you, yeah, you know the way to pose, you know, you know your angles…”

Outside of music, Wale’s been expanding his skill set into Hollywood as a full-blown actor, first as the Yoruba deity Chango in the third season of “American Gods.” Not long after, it was announced that he would be appearing in Michael Bay’s forthcoming action-thriller Ambulance, starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Eiza González, Garret Dillahunt, and Keir O’Donnell, among others. That film — which is said to be about two brothers that steal an ambulance in the midst of chaos — is expected to hit theaters in February of next year.

Press play on Wale and Chris Brown’s “Angles” below. It’s probably safe to assume that there’s plenty more where this came from.
