Nigeria continues to be a hotbed for new, groundbreaking talent, much in part thanks to the successes of permanent chart fixtures like WizKid and Burna Boy. Currently, rising star Tomi Thomas looks to join that fold, and has already made huge waves with Patience and Black Couch VOL I in 2014 and 2016, respectively. This past April, the singer-songwriter liberated a new single titled “Again,” which is essentially the perfect summer love story:

“Took two shots know you like that, and I just got paid pocket full of green popping nice tags, Henny in the ice cup tryna lick me up know, I bite back and I heard your up town, I might catch a flight back, here we go right back once again, things so nice I done my friends, swear I love you like I love my benz, summer time drop top let the sunshine in…/”

Directed by Dalia Dias, the accompanying clip for “Again” sees Thomas and a presumed love interest embarking on an adventure of sorts, complete with a video recorder to catch all of the action. From the water to out in the country, the couple enjoy a day in and around one of the most beautiful and breathtaking landscapes on film, matching the environment with their own electrifying connections.

“Again” precedes the singles “Who Knew” and “Hopeless Romantic,” all of which are said to be taken from the forthcoming EP (also called Hopeless Romantic) — a project that’s expected to make landfall sometime this summer. Having also lived in Dubai and the United States, one can only expect a unique blend of sorts sure to set Thomas apart from his peers.
