Last year was a big one for YoungBoy Never Broke Again. In addition to the chart-topping sophomore LP Top, the Baton Rouge star also liberated the projects Still Flexin, Still Steppin, 38 Baby 2, Until I Return, and Nobody Safe — the last of which was a joint effort with Rich The Kid. Currently, he’s said to be preparing for the release of his next body of work, Sincerely, Kentrell.

Today, YoungBoy liberates a new single from the aforementioned release titled “Territorial,” a Jason Goldberg, Bass Charity, OG Parker, and Romano-produced effort that sees the rapper showing his emotional scars:

“I slang that thang for my main man, let go this game for the love of my main thang, find it funny how the fuck the ones preaching change, change, plan on leaving you but once I left you then I gained pain, it’s hurtful to hurt somebody, start singing louder for the crowd, I still ain’t get what I deserved 30 round drac’ in a widebody/”

Currently, YoungBoy is also tackling some serious legal issues — last month, he was taken into federal custody in Los Angeles, thanks to an apparent warrant related to gun charges. If convicted, said charges could carry a sentence of up to 10 years. His attorney, James Manasseh, spoke to The Advocate about the surprise arrest:

“What happened to him in California was a travesty … Every law enforcement agency knows we represent Kentrell and no one told us of his warrant. Had they told us he was indicted, we would have voluntarily surrendered him at our office in a safe and non-public manner.”

Manasseh also added that the move was nothing more than a “show of force and power upon an individual by the Government.”

Press play on YoungBoy’s “Territorial” below. Sincerely, Kentrell is said to be making landfall sometime next month.
