Richie Starboi connects with A1 Flow for “Huncho”

The D.C. artists deliver a drill-styled collaboration for their latest.

  /  01.20.2021

Outside of all of the action taking place at the Capitol building and nearby White House, the Washington, D.C. area hip hop scene continues to thrive thanks to both newer-yet-established stars like Q Da Fool, Rico Nasty, and IDK and veteran talents like Wale, Adé, and Kingpen Slim. Within that mix lies Richie Starboi, an artists who has been making waves in the DMV for some time, and is currently gearing up to provide some fresh tunes for 2021.

For his latest, Richie Starboi teams up with fellow hometown hero A1 Flow for the PAPARAW-produced single “Huncho,” a drill-inspired cut that sees the two flipping the song’s subject matter from the rockstar lifestyle to the streets:

“I’m Richie, I’m drippin’, it’s Clicquot when I’m sippin’, them racks, I flip it, you fuck with n***as that’s tippin’, CC, schemin’, I’m cocky, Willie Beamen, I brought “Racks” to the city, I’m the D.C. Diddy…/”

I stick to the script like a textbook, never shook, Russell Westbrook, shooters, kill, Bradley, Beal, all-white, Navy Seal, free my n***a Dougie Diesel, fur drippin’ to the ground, you know I’m from Uptown/”

Formerly known as Yung Richie P., Richie Starboi first broke out with the popular single “Racks,” which featured fellow DMV peer Major Mayo and Dipset legend Jim Jones — he’s also received co-signs from the likes of Vado and Chink Santana. Since then, he’s dropped the well-received singles and visuals for “Goon To A Goblin” with King Shug and Phil Da Phuture (now known as Felipé Dro), “Straight To The Top,” “She Where What I Wear,” “Juice,” and — most recently — last year’s “In My Bag.” Meanwhile, A1 Flow has liberated infectious tracks of his own, including “Right Now,” “I Know,” and “Everything” with Camarabi.

Press play on Richie Starboi and A1 Flow’s “Huncho” below.
