Earlier this month, 2 Chainz unveiled his sixth studio album So Help Me God!, which boasts 15 tracks and features from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, Kanye West, Mulatto, Kevin Gates, Lil Uzi Vert, Rick Ross, and more. Today, the Atlanta hip hop veteran drops off a new music video from the project for Southside Hov, a Streetrunner-produced effort that reminds listeners of 2 Chainz’s weight in the streets (in part thanks to an uncredited assist from Sevyn Streeter):

“I’m from the Southside where it’s lukewarm, where n***as set you up for robbery and help you look for ‘em, I’ve been a stepper, I walk around with my own shoe horn, this type of flow, I give the opposition goosebumps/

I saw my dad die and told that n***a, ‘Wake up,’ my momma woke me up and asked me for a wake-up, you playin’ checkers, I play chess like an A-cup, I sold pounds, I ain’t never have a paystub/”

The visual comes courtesy of Howard Ross and shows 2 Chainz performing the track in front of a couple of Teslas. The black-and-white, flashy clip also shows quick-changing footage behind the artists, matching the vividness of the song’s lyrics.

As reported by Billboard, 2 Chainz’s So Help Me God! debuted at the number 15 position of the Billboard 200 albums chart following its first week out. Just months prior, the man also known as Tity Boi introduced the world to his The Real University collective via the project No Face No Case, which featured group members Sleepy Rose, Worl, Skooly, and Hott LockedN alongside peers like NLE Choppa, Quavo, NoCap, Quando Rondo, and Bear1boss. Chainz’s last solo LP, Rap or Go to the League, made landfall in 2019.

Fans can press play on the visual for “Southside Hov” below.
