Choo Jackson has come a long way. Originally hailing from Florida, the Vero Beach talent eventually relocated to Pennsylvania and found his way to Pittsburgh’s ID Labs, where he was discovered by Mac Miller. Despite the Circles star’s untimely transition, Choo Jackson has continued to deliver dope tunes for his fans to enjoy. Back in May, he dropped off his latest project FLOODED MIXTAPE, which saw 13 new cuts and additional features from FTR DRAMA, Wushu, Shaady, and Gio Dee. Following that, he liberated a visual from that project for its opener “U A STAR,” which he further explained via press release:
“I want everyone who is chasing their dreams to remember you’re a star … The world may not see it yet, but that’s what the fight and struggle is about; proving non-believers that I’m going to shine bright. I made this song as a reminder to myself.”
The clip for the Christo, Jay Card, and Nice Rec-produced cut comes courtesy of David Newbury and sees Jackson performing in from of a screen displaying images of what looks like galaxies in space. He can also be seen delivering the inspirational lyrics on a basketball court, keeping things simple and to the point.
Prior to FLOODED MIXTAPE, the Foreverkool Records released 2019’s Anime 2, another well-received 13 track offering that acted as the sequel for 2016’s Anime. It was from that project that he revealed a visual for “Loner,” a proper tribute to his friend Miller:
“I don’t know what I’m here for, so what am I gon’ do? See it on my face that I don’t want you to leave, wise man said that time is all we really have, I don’t wanna feel like a loner…/”
