Conway and DeJ Loaf join forces on “Fear Of God”
The track will appear on Conway’s forthcoming release ‘From King To A God.’
Next month, Conway The Machine will reveal his new album From King To A GOD, which is expected to feature the previously released cuts “Lemon” and “Front Lines.” This week, he adds to that with the new single “Fear Of God,” which features DeJ Loaf and — to nobody’s surprise — sees the Buffalo star blacking out lyrically over production from G. Ry and Hit-Boy:
“Yeah, all praises due to the most high, remain thankful and humble, that’s just some rules that I go by, it f***ed me up when people gave my n***a low profile, told ‘em that time like Kobe first step, that s*** gon’ blow by/
Used to bag the dope playin’ Mos’ Black on Both Sides, was in the streets, but I still provided the hope for those guys, I’m just lettin’ my soul fly, flow raw like the bricks from the source, where you gotta take a plane and a boat ride…/”
From King To A GOD will follow this year’s collaborative projects LULU and No One Mourns The Wicked, which were done with producers The Alchemist and Big Ghost LTD, respectively. Prior to that, Conway feed the fans with the projects Look What I Became, Organized Grime, Everybody Is F.O.O.D. 3, and WWCD, the last of which was created alongside his Griselda family Westside Gunn and Benny The Butcher. In addition to his own releases, he also recently provided verses on Grafh’s “Pray,” Jim Jones’ “The People (Remix),” Trae Tha Truth’s “Time For Change,” and MC Eiht’s “Honcho.”
DeJ Loaf has been providing some new music for the masses this year as well, beginning with “Bubbly” and — to date — ending with the new EPs It’s A Set Up and No Saint. Given that fans have yet to see an official debut LP, it’s hopeful that there’s plenty more to come from the Detroit artist before year’s end.
In the meantime, you can press play on Conway and DeJ Loaf’s “Fear Of God” below. From King To A GOD makes landfall September 11 via Griselda Records/Drumwork.
