Following his contribution to Top Dawg Entertainment’s Fan Appreciation Week, SiR delivers another visual from last year’s well-received album Chasing Summer. Today, the Inglewood singer drops a clip for “John Redcorn,” which is produced by Kal Banx and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman and is centered around the “King of The Hill” character for which the song is named. Essentially, listeners are reminded of Redcorn’s affair with the married Nancy Gribble, who ultimately ended said affair to work on her marriage with husband Dale:

“I really hate that I give a f***, pressin’ my line, I don’t wanna pick up/

We know enough won’t ever be enough, I play hard to get, she keep callin’ my bluff/

Baby divin’ deeper and deeper, she don’t believe me when I tell her that I need her/

Guess I shoulda stayed where I belong, ‘cause once you make it back to your happy home/

I’m alone, every night alone…/”

The animated video — directed by Daniel Russel and Dominic Polcino — brings us into SiR’s version of the popular cartoon, complete with cameos from from Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock and ScHoolboy Q. SiR plays the main character, with his love interest, Neicy, in a marriage with Soul’s character. The lyrics play out in real time throughout the clip, and ends with SiR attempting to profess his love — only to be knocked out by Soul during the intrusion.

Chasing Summer was released last August and serves as SiR’s third studio album, and second under the TDE banner. The project saw 14 tracks and additional appearances from Lamar, Smino, Lil Wayne, Jill Scott, Zacari, and more. Speaking to REVOLT, SiR spoke on the reception the album has since received:

It’s been wonderful. We definitely set expectations and worked really hard. It’s surprising how many new fans we’ve grown, we weren’t expecting this much. It’s so well-received. Everybody said the same thing: Not one song in particular, it’s the whole album. That’s the best compliment I could ever receive.
