Music’s latest family dynasty continue to deliver timeless cuts for your listening pleasure. Following D Smoke’s latest drops, younger brother SiR returns with a new visual for “You Can’t Save Me,” which is taken from his third studio album Chasing Summer. On the SHROOM and Kal Banx-produced track, the Top Dawg Entertainment signee sings about someone who ultimately isn’t for him, as he explained during a past interview with DJ Booth:

That’s probably my favorite song, man. I wrote that on the road, and it was just how I was feeling about a specific person. It was someone that I wanted that I couldn’t have. I felt like [how] I wrote about it came off perfectly. It expressed the emotion that I was feeling. I feel like I did it in a way where I didn’t make myself look silly. And I also got to speak my peace in a beautiful way. It helped me shape what emotion I wanted to portray.

Directed by Haitian Ev, the accompanying visual takes a different direction. We see SiR in a relationship with a girl while cheating with strippers and other girls on the side. In an interesting twist, his own close friend ends up in an affair with his girl and all hell breaks loose. Said friend ends up marrying the girl in question two years later, and the video closes with all parties dealing with that reality. Very dope.

Prior to Chasing Summer, SiR released his independent debut, Seven Sundays, and his first TDE full-length LP November, in 2015 and 2018, respectively. He also made waves with his HER EP series in 2016 and 2017. Hopefully, we’ll be hearing plenty more from SiR sooner than later.
