After receiving his flowers at last month’s Verzuz against Dipset, Jadakiss is paying it forward and praising another rapper: Cordae. While appearing on the latest episode of HBO’s “The Shop: Uninterrupted,” the emcee expressed his desire to make music with the 24-year-old star.
“I need to do something with Cordae,” he said while sitting across from fellow guest and girlfriend of the “Have Mercy” rapper, Naomi Osaka. “His mannerism is so cool, but his bars… he got them bars that puts him in an elite thing. And then, for you to be his significant other, he’s just so cool with it.” Kiss then proceeded to ask the tennis star for her help in getting him and Cordae together on the same track.
“You’re incredible, I love you,” Kiss said to the tennis star. “Let Cordae know he gotta get one with Kiss for my bucket list.” “Okay,” Osaka replied. “Thank you, it was nice to meet you.”
Kiss has worked alongside many artists throughout the span of his rap career, but in the wake of the Verzuz battle, he teamed up with Bronx rapper Criz Streetz for the single “Get It Str8.” He and fellow members of The LOX also appeared on Kanye West’s Donda, an opportunity they got after going head-to-head with Dipset at Madison Square Garden.
“Someone from ‘Ye’s camp actually reached out to my older son,” Kiss previously told HipHopDX. “Then ‘Ye called us the next day after Verzuz, he hit me the next morning. We flew straight there (Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium) and went straight to the studio and knocked the song out. Then went and rested and came back the next day, and went to the event and flew back.”
