Like much of the world, Juicy J isn’t exactly convinced that Kanye West will release his new album on time. In fact, he’s willing to place a bet on it.

On Thursday (Aug. 5), the rap legend used his Twitter account to propose a bet on whether or not Yeezy will meet the Aug. 6 release date by unloading his new LP at midnight.

“10k bet Kanye don’t drop his album tonight,” Juicy wrote in the tweet, which he posted a half-day after Kanye launched a livestream countdown for his Donda album.

Given Kanye’s recent history with album rollouts, Juicy’s tweet shouldn’t be a surprise. The fact that Styles P and Fivio Foreign were seen in Yeezy’s room in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, an indication that Kanye is very much still putting the new LP together, isn’t an encouraging sign.

Kanye’s habit of working on his albums until the very last minute and releasing them amid live event settings began back in February 2016. That’s when he hosted a massive listening party for his The Life of Pablo album, a project he continually revised even after it had hit streaming services. He’s done that for other albums, too.

Juicy’s tweet arrived as Kanye continues promoting his new project, which may or may not include a collaboration with Dr. Dre. Last night, a new Beats by Dre commercial that features a snippet of a Yeezy and Dre song called “Glory.” At this point, it’s unclear the song will appear on Donda.

The Kanye and Dre collaboration could also be a fruit of an unreleased album Kanye and Dre said they were working on in late 2019. If it is, in fact, a product of that project, fans have a lot to look forward to. But first thing’s first—’Ye needs to drop Donda.
