‘Certified Lover Boy’ and ‘Donda’ may come out on the same day.

Sept. 3 is set to be a great day for hip hop. Drake’s long-awaited Certified Lover Boy project will reportedly drop that day, and after three listening parties, Kanye West is scheduled to release Donda, his 10th studio album titled after the name of his late mother. The news grew anticipation for the rappers’ fans, who immediately took to Twitter to make predictions, side with their favorite emcee and make jokes about the two possibly having the same release date.

“Nigga Kanye West Doing All This At His Listening Shows Just To Sell Under 150k When Drake Only Did A Quick Wwe Return Snippet For CLB & Gonna Sell 200k First Week,” wrote Twitter user @GhettoLoveBirds, a fan of Drake.

“I don’t care how you want to spin it. Drake is the bigger artist at this point and i’ll listen to CLB first put respect on the boy,” added another one of Drake’s supporters @MaximeJLANdr1.

Someone siding with Kanye argued that he would have the better album between the two. “Drake makes timeless music, you can’t really say that Drake can’t can’t compete,” the user wrote. “It’s a close one, but I edge Kanye West.” Another Yeezy fan simply tweeted, “Kanye is better than drake!!!”

Ultimately, a neutral party noted that Sept. 3 will be a great day for hip hop fans all over the world. “September 3rd HISTORY will be made. Kanye West Versus Drake in real life!!!” the Twitter user wrote. “The 2 biggest male artist since 2010 will go head to head to see who the top dog is. I cant wait!!”

As REVOLT previously reported, the news of Drake’s release date came on Friday morning (Aug. 27) when a hooded figured walked onto the set of the SportsCenter broacast with a sign that read: “CLB. September 3.” As for Ye’s project, fans realized that Apple Music pushed back the previously-listed Aug. 27 release date to the same exact day.

The joint release dates comes as tension between the two rappers brews. Earlier this week, after Drake seemingly addressed their beef in Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal,” Yeezy took to Twitter with a post and delete of Drizzy’s Toronto address.
