AZ’s long-awaited LP gets a release date.

After years of anticipation, AZ’s Doe or Die 2 album finally has a release date.

On Friday (Aug. 13), the rapper announced that the eagerly awaited sequel to his 1995 effort will be released on Sept. 10. The project includes appearances from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Conway The Machine, T-Pain, Dave East and more.

The announcement of the Doe or Die 2 release date was preceded by “The Wheel,” a Jaheim-assisted track the rapper dropped yesterday. Spitting over the piano-fueled beat, the Brooklyn rapper unloads his customary blend of tight rhyme schemes and precise imagery.

“Luxury car living, I’m island hopping, the album’s dropping D’ussé champagne and Henny gallons popping/Procеssing the accolades of life calculating thе hate, evaluating the price,” he raps.

AZ spoke on “The Wheel” in an Instagram post he uploaded earlier today. He also included a pre-order link for his new album.

In the caption for the post, which includes the Doe or Die 2 album cover, the rap legend wrote: “Thank you for all the feed back., The wheel is unanimous!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥Video drop next week!! Help make it #1 ( THE WAIT IS OVER)!!!! Doe or Die 2 drop on 9/10 You can preorder now.”

With deft wordplay and malleable flows, the original Doe or Die represented 1990s boom bap at its best. Based on the first single from the project, as well its array of features, Doe or Die 2 will be a modernized version of the project, infusing all the best elements of the original while giving shine to artists who came up in the years after the album. Check out the tracklist for AZ’s Doe or Die 2, as well AZ’s IG post about “The Wheel” below.
