A new posthumous Pop Smoke album may be coming to streaming services really soon, according to a social media post from one his managers. On Saturday (May 1), Rico Beats took to Instagram to address some critics and announce that a Pop album is in the works.

“I see and hear everything,” he wrote in his caption. “Kept it cool tho no worries. Pay back around the corner. Pop Smoke new album loading...”

The message from Rico appears to align with a previous update from Pop’s other manager, Steven Victor, who previously confirmed that a new project from the late rapper was on the way.

“I don’t wanna seem needy, but is there gonna be more posthumous pop smoke albums?” a fan asked Victor under a post celebrating the rapper’s later birthday. “Need more classics from him down the line.”

“There will be,” Victor responded. “Also a project Pop, melo, axl & Rico Beats were working on.”

Pop’s sophomore effort will be the follow up to his record-breaking debut project, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, which was released in July, months after he was tragically shot and killed amid a home invasion in a Hollywood Hills mansion.

The platinum-selling project sold 251,000 album-equivalent units during its first week and had all 19 featured tracks on the Billboard 100 by its second week. In late March, after spending 20 weeks in the top position, the album became the longest-running No. 1 record on the Top Rap Albums chart. It also beat out Michael Jackson’s Bad album and Prince’s Purple Rain for the most weeks spent atop of the Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart.

Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon is still currently one of the top 10 records on the Billboard 200 and has earned Pop 10 nominations for the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

There is no word on when the posthumous release will come out.
