Quality Control’s Metro Marrs was recently detained during his high school graduation after he threw a few thousand dollars to his fellow graduates.

According to TMZ, Marrs graduated from Langston Hughes High School on Friday (May 21). As he walked across the stage, he took out piles of cash and threw it in the air towards his classmates. The crowd went crazy as the graduates tried to catch some of the dollar bills.

However, school officials were not pleased with his act. In one video, you can see several of them get up to try to get Marrs off the stage.

Local police officers intervened and escorted him out of the ceremony. As he was being taken away, the crowd yelled out words of support. One girl screamed, “We got yo back!” while a male voice booed the officers. Another voice asked for the emcee to hand over the cash as one of the cops instructed Marrs to do the same.

TMZ reports that the Quality Control rapper was detained for inciting a riot and disorderly conduct. After spending a few hours at the precinct, he was released and issued a ticket.

On Sunday (May 23), a video of Marrs’ detainment was shared on his official Instagram page from his team. “#Freeme,” the caption read. “Y’all tag @theshaderoom in the comments #classof2021 I love y’all!! (This his management team) #freemetro. He will get out in a couple of hours.”

Marrs recently signed with Quality Control, which is the label home to Migos, Lil Baby, City Girls and Lil Yachty, last October. He is best known for his single “Bye Felicia” and he shot the video for the track at the Langston Hughes High School campus. Rappers such as Gunna and Playboi Carti have also graduated from the same institution.
