Boosie speaks on Gucci Mane dissing Jeezy’s late friend during Verzuz battle

“If he said he was smoking on my partner, I’d have felt that was a type of disrespect,” he said.

Boosie shared his thoughts on Jeezy and Gucci Mane’s epic Verzuz battle — especially the part where Guwop dissed Pookie Loc, the Snowman’s late friend.

During the Verzuz, Gucci performed his 2012 song “Truth,” which mentions Pookie Loc being killed. In 2005, the 1017 Records CEO was allegedly attacked by a group of gunmen. When he and his associates returned fire, Pookie Loc was fatally shot. Gucci was charged for the shooting, but was later acquitted.

Boosie believes Gucci’s song choice during the Verzuz was disrespectful to Jeezy. “I watched the part with Pookie Loc, I watched that shit,” the Louisiana native said during an interview with DJ Vlad.

“He said, ‘I’m smoking on that Pookie Loc tonight,’ something like that,” he continued. “... I like how they bossed up, but I would have charged that nigga. If he said he was smoking on my partner, I’d have felt that was a type of disrespect.”

While Boosie appreciated how they handled the Verzuz in general, he believes they should have come to an agreement before it took place. “They was supposed to have that understanding before they got there,” he explained. “But I like how they handled it as bosses. I got a lot of respect for them for not taking it there and really bossing up and letting it be.” He also said that Jeezy showing restraint “showed the world he a real nigga.”

Although Boosie feels some type of way about the diss, Jeezy does not. Last year, he spoke about the viral moment on “The Breakfast Club.”

“In my mind, I didn’t feel no way about it because I’ve already heard the song,” the Thug Motivation emcee said. “I already know what people may think of the situation and you know that as well, so you can’t antagonize me with that.”
