NLE Choppa is backing Kyrie Irving and his stance against receiving the COVID-19 vaccine shot.

On Wednesday night (Oct. 6), the “Walk Em Down” emcee took to Twitter to send his support to the Brooklyn Nets player, who is currently one of the few NBA players who has not been vaccinated. “Stand on it king @KyrieIrving,” he tweeted. “Fuck all jobs, schools, and sport teams who are forcing people to take vaccines. When will we realize we are the need without us there’s no them. I don’t mind people taking the vaccine but for the people who refuses to take it how is it right for them to be jobless?”

The Memphis native added, “I’ll be damn if I had to take a vaccine to make music on god y’all wouldn’t hear another song from me.”

The NBA is 96 percent vaccinated, according to the league. As REVOLT previously reported, the NBA announced new COVID-19 protocols last month, which included that unvaccinated players would not be paid for games they missed due to local COVID mandates. If Irving continues to oppose receiving the immunization, he could lose more than $300,000 per game this season.

As of now, the Nets are unsure how things will play out with their star guard. According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the team’s hope that he would have been vaccinated by now fell on deaf ears. “There had been previous optimism Irving would get vaccinated and fulfill local mandates, but that hope is waning and Irving’s continued resistance to vaccination has Nets preparing for possibility they’ll be without him for home practices and games for foreseeable future,” he tweeted.

The Nets will decide whether they’ll allow Irving to come and go with the team in and out of the state or keep him sidelined entirely.
