It’s been over a year since The Weeknd released his “Blinding Lights” single, but the song continues to break records. Recently, the track re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 at the No.3 position, becoming the music chart’s highest re-entry.

The Weeknd’s manager Amir “Cash” Esmailian shared the news via Instagram on Monday (Jan. 4) captioning the post, “‘Blinding Lights’ Top 10 2019, 2020 and now 2021 @theweeknd. Great way to start the year.”

Fan page @NewsWeeknd also noted that the single off The Weeknd’s After Hours album has now charted in three separate years on the Hot 100 since its 2019 release.

“Blinding Lights” has been making history since it debuted in November of 2019. Earlier this year, the song — which is the Toronto star’s fifth number-one single in the United States — broke the record for the most weeks spent in the top five on the Hot 100 chart. It has reportedly spent a total of 43 weeks in the chart’s top ten, per Hot New Hip Hop.

Despite the success The Weeknd has seen with “Blinding Lights”, the Starboy singer received zero nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards, prompting him to call the annual award show “corrupt.”

He is still pushing forward and working on a Black Lives Matter-themed album that he was inspired to create during the whirlwind 2020 brought forth.

“I have been more inspired and creative during the pandemic than I might normally be while on the road,” The Weeknd previously told TMRW. “The pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement and the tensions of the election have mostly created a sense of gratitude for what I have and closeness with the people near me.”

The Canadian crooner is also scheduled to perform at The Super Bowl LV halftime show in February.

Congratulations to The Weeknd for yet another accomplishment!
