Mariah Carey has some new music on the way. The singer announced she will soon be releasing her eighth compilation album, The Rarities.

“This one is for you, my fans. It’s to celebrate us, and to thank you for years of pure love and support,” she posted on social media. “I am so grateful to you. THE RARITIES album is out October 2.”

The album will feature unreleased tracks from Carey as well as live performances from the Tokyo Dome in the ‘90s. “Basically, I found stuff in my vault that I had either started to work on, like a long time ago, and never released or that I wanted to finish mixing or do whatever,” she told “Good Morning America.” “But they are songs that have previously not been released, so it’s exciting.”

“It’s a monumental occasion for my career. You know, being in this business for two years is really tough, but somehow we’ve lasted,” she said jokingly.

In reality, Carey recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of her highly acclaimed self-titled debut album back in June. In honor of the special day, she initially planned on releasing new music then, but amid the killings, protests and Black Lives Matter movement, she decided to postpone and turn the focus to those important issues.

“Thank you lambily for all the celebratory messages for today’s #MC 30 Anniversary,” she shared on social media at the time. “I had prepared to share some surprises & rarities with you, but prefer to postpone them to a later date.”

“As we continue to fight for equality and justice within our broken systems, I thank you for using your platforms to educate, inform and invoke change.”

In the last few months, Carey has used her platform to demand justice for George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, but now she’s back to business.

“Save The Day,” the first single off The Rarities, will come out on Friday. The song samples the Fugees’ 1996 hit “Killing Me Softly With His Song,” and will feature vocals from the group’s own Lauryn Hill.

Carey is also getting ready to share some more about her life in an upcoming memoir “The Meaning of Mariah Carey” which will be released on Sept. 29, just three days before the album.
