Migos are gearing up for a full-length release, but it won’t be called Culture III. The Atlanta-bred trio talked about their upcoming project while appearing virtually on Lil Wayne’s Young Money Radio on Friday (May 22) and revealed they’re going in a new direction with the album’s title.

During their conversation, Wayne asked about the Migos’ recent collaboration with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, “I Need It.”

“Yeah, that’s the first single [from the album],” Offset told Wayne. “We ain’t dropped an album in like two years. We dropped that, to give ‘em a little taste of how we coming.”

“Just warming up, we’re just warming up, but that will be on the album,” Quavo added. “We changing the name. We gon’ push Culture III, the title, back. We gon’ change the name this time.”

So far this year, the trio has collaborated on singles “Give No Fxk” with Travis Scott and Young Thug, “Taco Tuesday,” “Racks 2 Skinny” and their YoungBoy-assisted offering, “Need It.”

Quavo previously teased the group’s plans to release a quarantine mixtape on Twitter, adding that the project would arrive ahead of Culture III.

“Quarantine Mixtape?? Jus To Keep Y’all Straight. Then Culture 3. When All This Is Over!” he tweeted. “Y’all Fu*k Wit That? Cuz We Ready To Drop. ASAP Original Migo Mixtape!!! Day 1 Sh*t.”

The Migos rapper also explained to Billboard how the pandemic has interrupted their next album’s rollout.

“Of course, the business has slowed down because we perform in front of masses of people,” he told the outlet. “Dropping music and all that, it’s at a standstill right now with us because we need to go out there and touch the people to push our albums to make our music work.”

Migos’ Culture II saw features from 21 Savage, Drake, Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Post Malone and 2 Chainz. The trio hasn’t yet disclosed what their next album will be called instead of Culture III.
