While fans are anxiously awaiting the release of Culture III, Migos is giving them some other music to hold them over. Quavo took to Twitter to announce that the group is planning to release a “quarantine mixtape.”
“Quarantine Mixtape??” he tweeted. “Jus To Keep Y’all Straight. Then Culture 3. When All This Is Over! Y’all Fuck Wit That? Cuz We Ready To Drop. ASAP Original Migo Mixtape!!! Day 1 Shit.”
“We’ve been spending most of our time working in the studio working on our Culture III album and going back to the house and staying away, playing games and spending, like, three, four hours on ‘Call of Duty’ and back to the studio,” he said.
“Of course, the business has slowed down because we perform in front of masses of people,” he explains. “Dropping music and all that, it’s at a standstill right now with us because we need to go out there and touch the people to push our albums to make our music work.”
Quavo celebrated his 29th birthday yesterday (Apr. 2). The rapper announced that his Quavo Cares Foundation will be donating protective personal equipment to health care professionals in Atlanta and Los Angeles.
The Quavo Cares Foundation has partnered with the Ohana One Foundation and Emory Healthcare to donate masks and other protective personal equipment to hospitals in Los Angeles and Atlanta.
“The Quavo Cares Foundation is working with the Ohana One Foundation and Emory Healthcare to ensure health care professionals at area Los Angeles and Atlanta hospitals have the protective personal equipment (PPE) they need to keep them safe during this pandemic (including masks, isolation gowns, face shields),” the rapper wrote in a release.
