Artists have come together to find ways to ease the angst felt by many as the spreading of COVID-19 has drastically changed how many conduct their everyday lives. One way in particular has been virtual concerts via Instagram Live. According to ESSENCE, Miguel will be performing a concert on Sunday (March 22) at 1:30 p.m. PT/4:30 p.m. ET via Instagram Live in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Citizen’s “Together, at Home” series.

Anthony Hamilton will also be holding a virtual concert following Miguel’s.

John Legend performed on his Instagram Live as well on Tuesday (March 17).

While not affiliated with WHO and Global Citizen’s initiative, celebrity DJ Derrick “D-Nice” Jones also encouraged people to stand together in solidarity as we fight through the uncomfortable times created by the unfortunate spreading of COVID-19. D-Nice hosted an epic Instagram Live party from his kitchen for over eight hours and it featured appearances from REVOLT TV’s chairman, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Rihanna, E-40, Drake, Jermaine Dupri, Nia Long and much more.

Janet Jackson even stopped by, causing D-Nice to have a bit of a fan moment. He then played a few of her hits, while celebs, fans and social media users cheered him on in the quickly moving comment section.

The Bronx native spoke of the historic event, titled Club Quarantine, on his Instagram page.

“I never would’ve imagined that the best party I would create and DJ would be from the comfort of my own home. Homeschool is a thing! Yesterday was absolutely insane. The amount of artists and friends that virtually partied with me far exceeded my expectations. I’m feeling nothing but gratitude,” he wrote.

He added, “This has been a great way to keep our spirits high. Blessings! Sending some love to my family. Shout out to all of my industry execs! Much love to all of the artists!”
