It appears fans will have to wait a little bit longer for Kehlani’s next album. The singer took to Twitter on Sunday (March 15) to reveal that her upcoming project has been delayed, citing the Coronavirus pandemic.

“To be transparent,” she tweeted, “i HAD a release date.”

“We’re unable to complete any of our plans or move forward with the album at the moment due to the pandemic,” her tweet continued. “Not thinking about music at the moment, focused on how to just be a good citizen to society at this time. stay SAFE luv y’all.”

Kehlani is one of the many artists who have either been barred from their recording studios or halted their tours due to social distancing restrictions or health concerns brought on by the pandemic.

On March 12, Live Nation Entertainment announced that all Live Nation tours would be postponed through the end of March in order to help contain the Coronavirus outbreak.

“The world’s leading forces in live entertainment have come together to form a global task force to drive strategic support and unified direction ensuring precautionary efforts and ongoing protocol are in the best interest of artists, fans, staff, and the global community,” the company said in a joint statement with AEG. “At this time, we collectively recommend large scale events through the end of March be postponed. We continue to support that small-scale events follow guidance set by their local government officials. We feel fortunate to have the flexibility to reschedule concerts, festivals, and live events as needed, and look forward to connecting fans with all their favorite artists and live entertainment soon.”

Kehlani has recently been dropping off a handful of singles, including “Konclusions” with YG, “Valentine’s Day (Shameful)” and “Toxic.” Her upcoming project will follow-up her 2019 While We Wait mixtape and serve as her first full-length album since 2017’s SweetSexySavage.
