Last week, Kehlani seemed to reinforce her union with YG by appearing on his new single, “Konclusions,” which saw the Compton emcee professing his love to the Bay area songstress. It’s now become clear that things may not be as above the clouds as it seemed, as Kehlani seems to reveal via her new single, “Valentine’s Day (Shameful).”

On the track, Kehlani reveals that a certain love interest — presumably YG — isn’t deserving of her affections, at least at this immediate moment in time:

I’d say your name but you don’t deserve recognition/

You played the hero but you really are the villain/

There ain’t a bone in me that wants to spare your feelings/

You called me crazy, but it was my intuition/

Used me for status, and the fame, and recognition/

It’s f***in’ crazy what they do for recognition/

I’d say your name but you don’t deserve recognition…./”

The real truth seems to arrive towards the end of the track:

“Wish I didn’t check your text when you was drunk sleep/

I’ve seen everything that I ain’t wanna see/

That I needed to see, that I needed to be/

Hope you live happily ever after with a b***h/

Fly to France, wine and crackers, honeymoonin’ with a b***h/

Hope you f*** around and have the son you wanted with a b***h…/”

It’s clear that Kehlani has approached ‘sick-and-tired’ status with an unnamed individual, and she used the weekend to express her pain over the Axel Folie and The Rascals production. Whether or not this will appear on her forthcoming follow-up to SweetSexySavage remains to be seen.

Press play on Kehlani’s latest drop below, which is currently available via her Soundcloud (due to that platform’s ability to release music more immediately than the other major streaming options available).
