Rick Ross is getting into the giving spirit. The rap veteran shut down Walmarts across the country this weekend to host toy drives for kids as the holidays approach. Although Ross is heavily identified with Florida, the 44-year-old was actually born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where he returned this weekend to host one of the drives.

On Instagram, Ross revealed that members of his own family were also at the event, including his young nephew. On his Story, Rozay thanked one of the fellow toy drive organizers for making the Walmart easily accessible.

“Once again, I wanna commend you for all the great work you’re doing,” he said. “You’re making it much easier for brothers to come back and give back because a lot of times [there are] a lot of technical things going on, but you kept it simple; so we’re right here.”

“We invited a lot of families out, man, and I just wanted to thank you,” he added.

Clips shared on Ross’ Instagram show a line of shoppers, including kids and families, waiting to receive special presents from the rapper. Some of the gifted items included Puma, FILA and Converse sneakers.

“It feels wonderful, man” Ross said about giving back in another video. “We got a lot of families out here. We shut the Walmart down, letting them do their thing. God is great.”

Ross was also recently announced as a co-headliner for Atlanta’s upcoming “Celebrate Georgia!” drive-in concert, which was organized by Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote.

Ross will be joined by Monica, Jack Harlow, DJ Drama and Pastor Troy for the Jan. 3 event, which is intended to encourage Georgia voters to hit the booths for the state’s U.S. Senate runoff election. Obama, Janelle Monáe, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, Jeezy and others are also expected to attend.
