Today, pop and R&B duo Majid Jordan share “Summer Rain,” a romantic, new wave-inflected single and nostalgic video via OVO SOUND. Before the new offering, the two already steadily built momentum with “Been Through That” and “Waves of Blue,” two emotional singles Majid Jordan dropped earlier this year. On the new “Summer Rain” song, the lyrics paint a lovely, open-ended scene:

Majid Jordan made sure to give a bit of detail about what the song means to them, as they aim to deliver a vibe that listeners can use to transport to bliss. “Summer Rain is the moment that hits and clears your mind of anything else,” they say about the song via press release. “We want people to escape to the track.”
The release of Majid Jordan’s 2013 debut EP Afterhours turned heads, eventually capturing the attention of OVO Sound. After co-producing and writing Drake’s 2013 6x-platinum smash “Hold On We’re Going Home” Majid Jordan’s sound catapulted into the mainstream and led them to signing to OVO Sound in later that year in 2013. They released their first official EP A Place Like This in 2014, and then swung back around to share the full-length version in 2016.
